The Type 2, and affectionately known as ‘Camper’ in the UK is the second car model introduced by Volkswagen in 1950. Following the naming convention of the Type 1 (Beetle), it was predictably named ‘Type 2’ but depending on body style was officially known as the Transporter, Kombi or Microbus.
The Type 2’s influence was commercially widespread with regards to forward control (vertical front) but also socially during the counterculture movement of the 1960s – hippie van/wagon inspired paintwork on a ‘Camper’ still remains just as iconic today.

Race: BTCC 2015 Brands Hatch
Driver: Jason Plato
Driving for Team BMR in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), Jason Plato had a great 2015 season with six race wins. Heading into the last race of the year, Jason had a chance to take the entire Championship. Unfortunately, it was not to be as Gordon Shedden drove like his life depended on it to get just enough points to push Jason back into second place. It was, however, another fantastic season for Jason and his first with Team BMR.
A PCR underpan (sold separately) is available for this car, allowing you to install and run performance parts from Slot.it
